Hi everyone, welcome to my blog. In this blog, I would like to share my great trip during Easter! I went to Barcelona, Spain. That place is breathtaking! I think one of the advantages of studying in the UK is that I can travel to European countries easily.
Spain gives me a very different feeling compared to the UK. Barcelona is a colourful city and full of people. You can see a lot of paintings and a lot of colours on the wall or street or anywhere. And there were a lot of people on the street even after 10:00 am. People in Barcelona are very hospitable. I don’t understand Spanish so it was difficult for me to take the bus if there is no English, but people are very patient to translate for me. Even though some locals don’t know English, they would ask someone else to help me.
In addition, I’ve found it very interesting that coffee shops such as Starbucks would even open till 11;00 pm. Sometimes I finished my dinner at the diner very late around midnight, the waiters would also ask me if I would like to have a cup of coffee. I remember I ordered a cup of coffee once, and I would not sleep until 4:00 am haha.
I love the food here very much, especially tapas and paella! I have ordered the shrimp tapas, foie gras tapas and seafood paella. They are very delicious! The prawns are very springy. Seafood is very fresh and fixed perfectly with rice. And the source in paella is stunning! Tapas are crispy. Don’t forget to have a cream Brulee. Egg liquid has melted in my mouth. I ate the amount for two people by myself!
I went to beach, Casa Mila, Casa Batllo, La Sagrada Familia and Bunkers del Carmel for the sunset etc. I have spent 4 days in Barcelona so I have almost been to all the signature scenes. There are a lot of people on the beach. The sky is blue, the water is clear, and everything is perfect. I think Barcelona is the city of Antonio Gaudi. The architectures are very grandiose and out of imagination. If you major in architecture, you must come to Barcelona. And don’t miss the sunset. I saw the sunset and the whole city on the mountain. I am thankful that I was able to see this beauty.
When I was back in Manchester, I still missed the trip to Barcelona. But I’ve found out that I am familiar with my life in Manchester. I can understand what people are talking about and I don’t need to use Google Maps to get to a place in Manchester. Manchester is my home, and in Barcelona, I am the visitor. And I enjoy both lives.
