Student council leaders
President: Max Dowling
About Max: Max Dowling, originally from Ashford, Kent, was previously an Operations Lead at Waterhouse Services.
Role on the council: As the MBA Student Council President, Max is dedicated to fostering a sense of community and ensuring every student’s voice is heard.
Why he ran for president: Max's passion for inclusivity and community building inspired him to run for President. He aims to create a collaborative environment where students from diverse backgrounds can connect, share cultures, and thrive. Additionally, he saw an opportunity to implement long-term initiatives, like improving information sharing across clubs and groups.
Achievements: So far Max has:
- Supported the Social VPs in organizing successful events, including a Diwali celebration
- Spearheaded the development of a SharePoint system to streamline information sharing across students, clubs, and wellbeing groups.
- Represented the cohort in faculty meetings, advocating for student needs and program improvements.
Goals: Max hopes to leave a legacy of positive change by fostering a connected cohort, advocating for cultural exchange, and improving program experiences for future students.
Future impact: Serving as President has sharpened Max's leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills - qualities he believes will serve him well in his career.
VP Academics: Abigail Irozuru
About Abigail: An Olympic athlete specialising in Long Jump, Abigail hails from Manchester, UK.
Role on the council: Abigail serves as VP Academics, ensuring academic support and clear communication for the cohort.
Why she chose this role: Having been out of formal learning for a while, Abigail understands the challenges students face. Her natural advocacy skills and passion for helping others make her an ideal fit for the role.
Achievements: So far, Abigail has:
- Surveyed the 2025 and 2026 cohorts, delivering findings and recommendations to faculty
- Prepared to run the first Manchester Matters session in the next term.
Goals: Abigail aims to drive positive academic change, ensure clear communication of deadlines, and empower students through initiatives like Manchester Matters.
Future impact: This role is honing Abigail's teamwork, communication, and advocacy skills, preparing her for future leadership roles.
VP Careers: Dr. Cheima Bouchrara
About Cheima: Cheima, originally from La Marsa, Tunisia, is a former Lecturer and Researcher in Forensic Linguistics.
Role on the council: As VP Careers, Cheima connects students with career development resources and opportunities.
Why she chose this role: Cheima's experience in academia and industry, combined with her love for networking, drives her passion for supporting others in their professional journeys.

VP Communications and Finance: Daniel Lorenzo Che Lau
About Daniel: From Peru, Daniel was a Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist at Wi-Net Telecom.
Role on the council: As VP Communications and Finance, Daniel oversees budgeting and ensures transparency in council initiatives.
Why he chose this role: Daniel's expertise in finance and passion for connecting with people inspired him to take on this role.
Achievements:So far, Daniel has:

- Acted as a liaison between the council and the AMBS Communications and Events team.

VP Socials: Dheerika Pandey and Parthivi Khullar
About Dheerika and Parthivi:
- Dheerika Pandey is a Technical Team Lead from Delhi, India.
- Parthivi Khullar is a Marketing Manager from India.
Role on the Council: As VPs Socials, Dheerika and Parthivi organise events to foster community and engagement.
