I've got just over a month before I hand in my dissertation and finish my MSc. This is going to be my last blog post, and as I've written about some hints and tips last month, I will now round off with what AMBS has given me over this last year.
As cliché as it may sound, I've made friends and met a lot of nice people. You really get to see lots of different people from all over the world. Manchester is very diverse and multi-cultural, so this is one reason to study here – you get to experience different cultures and meet different people (whether it's on your course, in clubs or societies that you may join, at university in general, at your accommodation or even on the streets!). Another obvious one is I've learned more about operations, project and supply chain management – something that I've been interested about in the last few years.
The biggest one of all is that the university helped me find a job that I've wanted for the past several years, which is a commercial/business-related role in the energy sector. I've used the careers service to get advice on job interviews, get some CV help and it's also the skills and knowledge you gain in your lectures. I will also no doubt use the knowledge I've gained on the course as my role is in the remit of operations management.
I am now writing my dissertation on Implementing Socially Responsible Supply Chains using Industry 4.0 Technologies which is great fun but obviously hard. Wish me luck and I would also like to take this opportunity to wish success on your master's course to whoever is reading this. Make sure you take every opportunity and have a read at my other blogs, I hope you can get something useful out of it. Good luck!
