Do you aspire to lead larger teams, manage complex challenges, and inspire others to drive meaningful change?
Join us for this information session, hosted by Dr Simon Moralee, Head of Health Management Group at AMBS, where you'll learn more about the EGA Senior Leader Apprenticeship. This programme is designed for aspiring and existing leaders who want to develop their skills, confidence, and influence in senior leadership roles.
In this session, we’ll explore:
Practical leadership development: Discover how the apprenticeship combines real-world challenges with theoretical learning to prepare you for the complexities of senior leadership in health and social care.
Recognised qualifications: Gain a Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship and a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Leadership - with the option to top-up to a Masters (MSc) in Healthcare Leadership, awarded by The University of Manchester. You will also be awarded an NHS Leadership Academy Award in Senior Healthcare Leadership.
Programme design: Learn more about how the course structure equips leaders to oversee large teams, navigate complex projects, and cultivate a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Accessible funding: Find out how the Apprenticeship Levy can fully fund this programme, making it accessible to leaders across both clinical and non-clinical roles.
About the EGA Senior Leader Apprenticeship
Since 2013, over 2,500 leaders within the NHS have participated in the EGA standard pathway. 65% of participants reported that they have been promoted during the programme, and of these, 87% attributed their promotion to the programme
The funded EGA Senior Leader Apprenticeship provides an alternative pathway. It builds on the success of the existing programme and incorporates the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a senior leader apprenticeship award.
Applications for the Manchester-based July 2025 cohort will open on 27 January 2025. Space on the programme is limited - places are awarded on a first come, first served basis.
Important: Cohorts may become full before the application window closes. In this event, applications will be considered for reserve list places or for our following Manchester-based cohort, currently scheduled for December 2025, pending confirmation of Level 7 apprenticeship funding.
