Beena Puri

Beena Puri is Innovation and Partnerships Lead at Greater Manchester Combined Authority, in the Digital Policy team. Her team is responsible for delivering the Digital Blueprint for the region, powered by the second biggest digital and creative cluster in the UK.

Beena leads on the Greater Manchester Digital Inclusion Agenda for Change - a visionary initiative backed by Mayor Andy Burnham and the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester. They have a bold ambition to:

• Become a 100% digitally enabled city-region, where every resident has the ability to live well and thrive, regardless of background, age or situation
• Ensure public services are inclusive, accessible and work for all.

Greater Manchester's agenda is driven through a dynamic Taskforce of over 250 organisations spanning industry, government, academia, and community sectors - united in bridging the digital divide and ensuring public services are accessible to all. The Greater Manchester Digital Inclusion Agenda for Change has delivered tangible impact, supporting up to 27,000 people in 2023 alone.

Supporting society's biggest challenges

Beena's career spans 12 years working in the technology industry before moving into the public sector to explore how digital technology and innovation can work for people, places and services.

She is an advocate of technology, equity and society, recently shortlisted for the Northern Power Women Levelling up Leader award in 2023/24 for her work in bridging divides
