Why did you choose to study this Masters course at Alliance Manchester Business School?
Having studied a technical degree I wanted to broaden my skill set and develop some soft skills. I felt Operations, Project and Supply Chain Management was the perfect course for me as it was still based on problem solving and analytical thinking but applied to business. Alliance Manchester Business School is a highly ranked business school, which influenced my decision to apply. However, having done my undergraduate degree at The University of Manchester, I had really enjoyed living in Manchester and was eager to stay.

What were you doing before your MSc?
Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Manchester

What are your career plans after graduation?
I plan to get a job in Operations or Supply Chain management in the UK. Perhaps eventually moving back to Nigeria and working there after a few years.

What is the best thing about studying at Alliance MBS?
There are a lot of opportunities to get involved in AMBS through various clubs and societies. The Careers team is excellent at guiding and assisting with job applications and CV development. The lecturers are genuinely passionate about their topics which makes it very easy to feel engaged.

How much time do you spend in classes and in private study?
12 hours a week in classes and around an hour a day in private study and doing readings. This depends on the number of deadlines approaching, it tends to rise a fair bit when a lot of work is due.

How would you describe your student experience so far?
It’s a unique experience. Coming from an engineering degree to a business one is definitely a big difference in learning styles. But the change is welcome and the lecturers are always available for discussion which can really improve understanding of topics.

What’s the best thing about living in Manchester?
It’s a vibrant city; there is always something to do regardless of what interests you. Theatre, concerts, the nightlife as well as a lot of exciting places to eat out.

What advice would you give to those considering studying at Alliance MBS?
AMBS is a world class business school, a choice that you will not regret.

What were your experiences of the residential session at Brathay in the Lake District?
Brathay was an incredible experience and a great opportunity to bond with course mates as well as enjoy the beautiful countryside and fun activities.
