Why did you choose to study this Masters course at Alliance Manchester Business School?
The courses I had taken in my undergraduate studies furthered my understanding of management of human resources in an organization and gave more insight into organization structures. Leaning about various cultures, and management of a multi cultured workforce, fascinated me. Having gone through the course outline offered here at Alliance MBS, it was clear that this course was a perfect fit for me. Apart from this, this course is offered at select universities in the UK, and the fact that it is CIPD accredited is a bonus.
What were you doing before your MSc?
I did my undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a dual specialisation in Human Resource Management and Accounts & Finance.
What are your career plans after graduation?
In the short term, I would like to take up a job in Human Resources, working for either a global consultancy firm or a Multinational Company situated in the United States or in the United Kingdom. In the long term I aspire to be what most folks aiming for a successful corporate career do – a C-suite executive!
What is the best thing about studying at Alliance MBS?
There are several points I'd like to mention here. For starters, it is the top ranked institution in the United Kingdom for graduate employment. Furthermore, its ranking and recognition are exceptional. It offers a variety of world class facilities and services. Students will find support in every single aspect – whether it is related to academics or otherwise. The campus is in the city so odds are if you need something you can find it nearby. Several different types of people from all over the world come to the university and you'll get to interact with a lot of them and have a truly international experience. It's an enlightening experience to say the least. AMBS also has a great careers service team. They provide career counselling and guidance related to CV, Cover Letter and Job Application. They host several careers fairs throughout the year and provide students with the opportunity to network with alumni and professionals too.
How much time do you spend in classes and in private study?
We have a total of 17 hours of class, including Lectures, Seminars, and Workshops, spread across Monday to Thursday. I do a bit of studying every day and use the weekends for any catch up that is required (approximately 20 hours of private study a week).
How would you describe your student experience so far?
It has been amazing so far! I was initially apprehensive but all those fears were blown away the minute I entered AMBS for the first time. The faculty are exceptionally qualified, the students are friendly and helpful, and there is always something or the other going on at all times. There is something here for everyone and you are guaranteed to meet people with similar interests – be it in sports, music, or something as broad as your culture. Furthermore, coming to Manchester has helped me grow and develop as an individual. It has taught me how to be independent, manage my own time and provided me with a sense of responsibility.

What was your experience like on the Brathay residential trip? (If you attended)
I thoroughly enjoyed myself during the Brathay residential trip. The activities are challenging and engaging and it truly met the purpose of the trip – to bond with your course mates and even those from other courses, build trust and make meaningful friendships. The location is beautiful and for me at least, really put my entire journey here in perspective. I highly recommend going on the trip, it is truly unique and one of a kind. You will make memories that you will cherish forever.
