MSc Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, Class of 2018

Why did you choose to study this Masters course at Alliance Manchester Business School?
Alliance Manchester Business School is a well-known business school with a good reputation. I wanted to gather more experience abroad and Manchester is a great option.

What were you doing before your MSc?
I was a business analyst for a management consulting company, in Germany, focused on advising firms in the digital shift.

What are your career plans after graduation?
I want to continue working in management consulting especially focused on digital strategy, business model transformation and innovation.

What is the best thing about studying at Alliance MBS?
The professors are very invested in making the knowledge transfer as enjoyable as possible, encouraging and assisting the students all the way. Also, the diversity of the course is something I have been benefiting from tremendously.

How much time do you spend in classes and in private study?
Besides the normal timetable I spend about 3 to 4 hours per course on reading and reviewing. Additional workload occurs, when it comes to preparing group assignments, papers or presentations.

How would you describe your student experience so far?
I knew that I would have to work hard for academic success. However, I didn’t expect it to be as challenging and time intensive. Nonetheless, it is a great fun thanks to the invested lecturers, structured approach and great class mates.

What’s the best thing about living in Manchester?
For me personally: the events and music. This city has culturally so much to offer. Every week there are events to attend, food markets to visit, great music gigs to enjoy or discounted tickets for The Bridgewater Hall. The next activity on my list is to go to one of football matches, if I can get the tickets.

What advice would you give to those considering studying at Alliance MBS?
Go for it. Manchester breathes, eats and sleeps student life. You will meet people from all over the world, experience their cultures and have so many opportunities to get involved.

What was your experience like on the Brathay residential trip?
My best experience so far was the weekend in Brathay. Since then I travelled around quite a bit in the UK: Liverpool, Edenborough and London. However Brathay was more memorable. Being together with new people in a new environment and being forced to work together was so rewarding.
