International Women’s Day is celebrated worldwide every year. Declared as an official United Nations observance in 1975, it is a national holiday in many countries. Held on 8 March, it is a day in which people everywhere can not only celebrate the achievements of women, but also raise awareness about the many gendered issues still facing women today. For over 100 years it has been a chance to amplify women’s voices and highlight the struggles that they still face in society.
This year we are holding a series of online events as part of these celebrations. These events showcase powerful female voices, from Manchester, the UK and across the globe, bringing insight and expert knowledge from a wide variety of industries.
