Congratulations to our MSc Digital Marketing students for demonstrating their marketing, pitching and poster crafting prowess at Alliance Manchester Business School’s inaugural Poster and Pitch showcase.
As the very first cohort of Digital Marketing students, the stakes were high to impress the panel of guest judges.
Working collaboratively in groups, the students exhibited the value of their course content in a 'dragons’ den' style pitch to the panel. They also worked together to design posters that displayed their marketing plans and research for new products and brands of their own creation.
Students' pitches were presented in under 5 minutes, the goal was to wow the judges with a digital marketing plan for a new product or brand that met one of more UN sustainable development goals. Social responsibility is at the forefront of the teaching and learning at Alliance Manchester Business School and our students’ projects demonstrated the values of an Alliance MBS education.
The judges were blown away by the creativity of our students' sustainable brand ideas and even more impressed by the practical application of their master's course content to a real-world digital marketing project.
Kathryn Howard, Head of Marketing and Communications at Alliance Manchester Business School and judge, said, “It was a real honour to be asked to judge the students’ projects and see just how hard the students worked on their posters and pitches. The judges panel and I were impressed with the calibre of the marketing plans pitched to us. I enjoyed speaking with the students about their projects and seeing their enthusiasm first-hand.”
After aiming to impress with their pitches, the students presented their posters to the panel in a conference-inspired event. Students and the guest judges were invited to quiz one another about their digital marketing plans for their product ideas while reviewing the poster exhibition.
The final thrill came with the winner announcement following the judges discussing their thoughts and comparing scores.
Rebecca Roberts, AMBS Careers Consultant and judging panel member, added, "As part of the Alliance MBS Postgraduate Careers Service, we are continuously blown away by how well our students can bring the knowledge they've built in the classroom and apply it to challenges that are relevant to the modern business sector. The Digital Marketing master’s students brought a passion to their projects that will take them on to great places in their careers!"
