Alliance MBS is supporting the Royal British Legion to support its veterans and managers.
With our brand of Original Thinking Applied, we harnessed our interdisciplinary unique capabilities from across the School and responded to support veterans and British Legion managers in four areas:
- Management Development Programme – A five-day programme bringing analysis and insights, resources and toolkits to support RBL managers balance their workflows across the multiple agencies they orchestrate to support veterans. The programme culminated in business school support for a live business challenge facing the charity
- Prometheus - has grown out of Alliance Manchester Business School’s ambition to engage with all sectors of the economy. Our vision is to see the 3rd Sector recognised as a crucial part of any healthy economy, identifying and serving the needs of the community. RBL managers attended the programme to explore the issues they face and debate them with peers in the third sector
- Our start-up support comprises of colleagues from across and outside the school collaborating to host a business planning workshop, provide legal advice to veterans in the process of or contemplating establishing their own business, and a budgeting simulator to provide confidence in creating budgets and planning cash
- Colleagues also bring expertise to bolt-on to the British legion’s existing service offering in areas including entrepreneurship, career advice and personal finance support
In this video, Lloyd Orr explains how the partnership worked from the perspective of the Royal British Legion, as well as some of the key benefits:
