In July 2023, we welcomed our latest Global MBA cohort to Manchester. The cohort in Manchester included students from over 20 nationalities.
Our students spent several days on campus taking part in workshops and meeting academic staff. While beginning their journey, they also had the opportunity to network with students from other cohorts and from our other global centres on all our professional MBA programmes.
Olurotimi Ige, Enterprise Account Manager for Amazon Web Services came from Nigeria to start his Global MBA journey, he shares his thoughts on his first MBA workshops and being in Manchester.
“I chose the Manchester Global MBA over other MBAs available as I wanted an international experience during my MBA and Alliance Manchester Business School offers exactly that.
The Manchester MBA is global in its true sense with options for electives in five different global centres. Manchester also has a long history of innovation and many Nobel Prize winners are connected with the university. I found this encouraging as innovation is an area of focus for me and my MBA journey.”
During Olurotimi’s first time on campus he was part of an action packed 3 days where the new cohort got deep into Leading and Managing in a Global Environment A course designed to equip our students with analytical tools to critically evaluate the globalised economy and explore major management issues and develop an understanding of the social context of businesses.
“I was very impressed with the diversity of the class, we had students from Chile, Japan, USA, Switzerland, Greece and Kenya. The class was as diverse as it can get, giving us an experience of a truly global MBA.
I found the workshop sessions very interactive and the topics were case driven, giving us loads of real-life examples. Being able to learn new concepts and the way they are applied in a variety of industries really helps the teachings to stick and add to my skillset.”
