Why did you choose to study this course at Alliance Manchester Business School?
“I chose to study at AMBS for two main reasons. One is the worldwide academic reputation it has in terms of teaching excellence, student support and employability. Secondly, because of its location – Manchester is growing rapidly, with major construction projects and factories. Studying MSc Operations, Project and Supply Chain Management at Alliance MBS gives the opportunity to be close to the real-life application of what we are learning.
What are your career plans after graduation?
“Upon graduating, I am planning on pursuing a career in operations or project management within the construction or manufacturing industry. A PhD is also something I’m considering.”
How much time do you spend in classes and in private study?
“I attend all of the lectures, which make up 12 hours a week and I spend nearly 30 hours per week on independent study based on a 7-day week.”
What advice would you give to those considering studying at Alliance MBS?
“The best advice I can give is to plan ahead, really research the city, make sure you have everything you need before moving over and move over in advance of the course start date. I recommend at least a month in advance to get everything settled before starting the course.”

“The University of Manchester was my only choice for studying an MSc degree. Specifically, I applied to the School because of its high ranking and its excellent course structure. What were you doing before your MSc?
“Before my MSc studies, I was studying for a BSc degree in Geography. I managed to complete my BSc degree with first-class honours and first in my class (2019) while working in parallel in the Greek Army as a Sergeant Major.”

How would you describe your student experience so far?
“I enjoy having the chance to collaborate with people from all over the world, to learn from highly qualified teachers, to study in superb facilities and live in a multicultural and vivid city. The University offers so many free or low-cost sports activities and gives me the chance to learn new sports such as diving, lacrosse and badminton.”

Why did you choose to study this course at Alliance Manchester Business School?
“I chose to study this course due to the exposure that it will give me to the wider supply chain industry. I really wanted a course which focuses on the practical application of the theory. Everything we learn in class, our lecturers make sure we understand the actual application through the use of software packages and a wide range of examples from various industries.”
What were you doing before your MSc?
“I came straight from my BA Business Management undergraduate degree at The University of Sheffield.”
What is the best thing about studying at Alliance MBS?
“The professional nature of the whole business school is amazing. The lecturers have vast industry experience and help research for the world’s largest companies. The Postgraduate Careers Service gives significant job application support and their staff are always an email away for any advice you may need.”
How would you describe your student experience so far?
“My student experience has been very enjoyable so far. Living in such a vibrant city such as Manchester there is always something to do. During every lunch break after class, my course mates and I go to a different restaurant. People here are really friendly which has made it really easy to settle and has made my experience here unforgettable.”
