How do I apply?
You need to use our online application form to apply for our Master's courses. You can check how to apply for a Master's degree.
Do I need to pay an application fee?
The following courses require a non-refundable application fee of £60:
- MSc Accounting
- MSc Accounting and Finance
- MSc Business Analytics: Operational Research and Risk Analysis
- MSc Digital Marketing
- MSc Finance
- MSc International Business and Management
- MSc Marketing
- MSc Management.
You don't need to pay an application fee if the programme you are applying for is not listed.
How to pay the application fee
If you're applying for a programme that requires an application fee, you must pay it within the application portal before submitting your application. You can't submit your application without paying the application fee. Due to processing times, we cannot accept your payment via bank transfer.
If an agent is submitting an application on your behalf, they will have to pay the application fee. We can't provide a link for you to pay this separately.
Is there a deadline for applications?
As there is high demand for our courses we operate a staged admissions process with selection deadlines throughout the year.
Can I apply for more than one course?
Yes, you can apply for more than one course. If an application fee is required, you need to pay for each course you wish to apply for.
What should I include with my application?
There are a number of supporting documents that you need to include with your application - check what documents you need.
What do I do if my academic qualifications are not from a UK institution?
You need to check the international entry requirements.
If your degree certificate and transcript are not in English, you will need to have them translated and stamped by an official translation company.
Do I need to submit an English language test score?
Can I take a pre-sessional English language course?
If your English language ability is slightly below our requirements, you may be eligible for a pre-sessional English language course in order to progress to the Master's degree.
You must achieve a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no element below 6.0 for entry to a pre-sessional course.
Can I apply before I have completed my degree or taken my English test?
You can apply before you have completed your degree, but you will need to include up-to-date transcripts with your application.
If you submit your application without an English language test score, we will be able to process the application, but won't be able to make an offer until we see evidence of your language ability. When we have received your English language test score and you meet the minimum requirements, we will be able to send you an offer for your chosen course (subject to places available).
It is important that you tell us the date of your test or the test score result.
What happens to my application once it has been received?
You will receive an acknowledgement from the Central University Admissions Team. You will be given a seven-digit ID number that you must quote on all further correspondence with us. You will also receive a further acknowledgement from the Alliance Manchester Business School Admissions Office.
How long does it take for a decision to be made on my application?
We operate a staged admissions process and aim to give you a decision on your application by the relevant deadline date. Ensure that you submit all the required supporting documents so that we can process your application.
What happens if I am accepted onto my chosen course?
If you are offered a place on one of our Master's courses we will send you a copy of your offer letter by email.
How do I accept my offer of a place?
If my application is successful, can I defer my offer?
To defer your place, you need to write to your Admissions Officer to request a deferral. Deferrals are only permitted for a maximum of one year and the decision is at the discretion of the Admissions Manager. A deposit of £1,000 is required to hold a place for the following year.

When can I apply for accommodation?
You can apply for University accommodation as soon as you have received an offer to study with us. You can check how to apply for accommodation at The University of Manchester.

When can I start the course?
All Alliance MBS Master's courses have one entry starting in September each year.
