If you're looking for Master's degree funding, you should research your options as soon as possible. There is a range of support available with the postgraduate loan, bursaries and scholarships.
Funding Opportunities for Master's Degrees
There are a number of master's funding options for our courses and these will vary depending on whether you’re a student from the UK, EU or an international student from outside the EU.
Please note: if you are successful in receiving more than one scholarship award, the total scholarship amount must not exceed 50% of your course tuition fees.
Master's student loan for UK students
If you are a prospective master's student from the UK there are potential sources of funding available. The UK Government has confirmed that Postgraduate Loans will be offered to UK students starting a master's course in the 2025/26 academic year.

This discount is offered to alumni of The University of Manchester enrolling on one of the Business School's taught master's courses.

German applicants can apply for BAföG funding in the form of a grant, subsidy, state or bank loan.

Master's scholarships for UK/EU/international students: 2025 entry
We have a number of partial scholarships across all of our courses.
International postgraduate scholarships
Alliance Manchester Business School is proud to offer a range of international master's degree funding and scholarship opportunities for eligible applicants starting in September 2025.
There are a limited number of awards available to international students from the EU, India and the US at the value of £10,000. Awards granted based on your academic achievement and the quality of your programme application.
All awards are applied as a tuition fee discount at registration.
Sport scholarships
The University of Manchester Sport Scholarships support students balancing studying a degree with achieving their aspirations to continue moving up their sporting pathway.
Eligibility criteria
You must be either:
- A full-time or part-time undergraduate or postgraduate student at The University of Manchester
- A prospective student who has received a conditional or unconditional offer and is commencing study in that same year.
You must also be:
- Competing at a minimum of Junior National level on a recognised player pathway for your sport - this must be a Talent-funded Sport England/UK Sport recognised sport, or equivalent for overseas applications
- Contracted to a club in a semi/full level professional league or competition at either a national or international level
- An ambassador for your sport with a commitment to supporting the development and performance of the relevant University Sports Club for your sport - this will be in an agreed capacity
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to striving for personal excellence - this needs to be defined in your scholarship application
- Able to demonstrate Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound (SMART) sporting and educational goals - this needs to be defined in your scholarship application.
The University of Manchester Sport Scholarship is awarded to our high-performing student-athletes. Our support proudly offers a bespoke and comprehensive package, designed with you at the centre, to help you develop and excel in all aspects of your life.
The application window for our 2025-26 Sport Scholarship will open in May 2025.

Master's scholarships for Accounting and Finance programmes
We are offering five scholarships across the four Accounting and Finance courses with a value of £10,000 towards the cost of the tuition fee.
All UK/EU applicants who hold an offer of a place to study on one of the following courses:
- MSc Accounting
- MSc Accounting and Finance
- MSc Finance
- MSc Quantitative Finance
All applicants who hold an offer will automatically be considered for a scholarship. There is no scholarship application process.
Decisions are made on merit rather than financial need. Scholarships are awarded if you:
- Can demonstrate excellent academic performance
- Are on track to obtain, or who have graduated with a 2:1 or 1st UK undergraduate degree or overseas equivalent
- Have previously studied at a University with a strong academic reputation and ranking
- Have the potential to contribute and enrich all aspects of the Master's programme and the diverse academic and cultural profile of the Master's class.
Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis throughout the admissions cycle. We have a limited number of scholarships. Awards are subject to availability and may not be available in the later stages.
We'll only contact you if you are successfully selected to receive a scholarship. Unfortunately, we can't offer scholarships to all eligible applicants.
External awards
Applications for September 2025 are open from October 2024.
If you receive an external scholarship award or postgraduate loan which only covers part of your tuition fee, you will still be considered for an Alliance Manchester Business School scholarship.
Fulbright Scholarships
These scholarships are for applicants from the USA only. They include tuition and living expenses.
2025-2026 Competition Deadline: Tuesday, October 8 2024 at 5pm Eastern Time.
Chevening Scholarships
These scholarships are for high calibre international students with the personal intellect and interpersonal qualities needed for leadership.
GREAT Scholarship
Applicants from Greece can apply for the GREAT Scholarship.
The Canadian Centennial Scholarship Fund (CCSF)
Established in 1967, CCSF has awarded around £1,000,000 in scholarships to some 500 talented Canadians studying at more than 40 universities, colleges and conservatories across the UK.
Applications for the 2025-26 Scholarship Competition will open in early January 2025.
The 2024-2025 Scholarship Competition closed on 11 March 2024.

The Government of Canada also has scholarships available.
US Marshall Scholarship
This scholarship is open only to United States citizens who (at the time they take up their Scholarship) hold a first degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the United States. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.7.
The scholarship includes:
- University fees
- Cost of living expenses
- Annual book grant
- Thesis grant
- Research and daily travel grants
- Fares to and from the United States
Where applicable, you can also get a contribution towards the support of a dependent spouse.
Up to 50 scholarships are awarded each year.
DAAD scholarship
German applicants can apply for a DAAD scholarship.
Postgraduate Solutions Study Bursaries
Every postgraduate student is eligible to apply for this funding, whatever their subject choice and whether they are studying full-time, part-time, online or via blended learning. Even if a student has secured other funding for their postgraduate programme, this can be topped up with one of the £2,000 bursaries.
