Course overview

This MSc examines sustainability as a complex business challenge, preparing students to understand, debate and influence sustainable change in organisations and society.

  • Explore sustainability as a systemic, interconnected challenge involving businesses, governments and diverse stakeholders, and understand how change emerges across organisational and institutional levels.
  • Develop a business perspective on sustainability, learning how organisations frame, negotiate and respond to environmental and social pressures during sustainability transitions.
  • Engage with theories, frameworks and approaches to sustainable business, brought to life through real-world examples discussed in highly participatory lectures and seminars.
  • Build confidence in debating contested issues, recognising trade-offs, resistance and alternative perspectives through discussion, role-play and collaborative learning.
  • Develop skills in critical thinking, persuasion and advocacy, supporting your development as a graduate able to contribute to and lead sustainable change across sectors.

Fees

For entry in the academic year beginning September 2026, the tuition fees are as follows:

  • MSc (full-time)
    UK students (per annum): £18,400
    International, including EU, students (per annum): £30,500

The fees quoted above are fully inclusive of tuition, administration and computational costs.

Fees for entry are subject to yearly review. The University reserves the right to increase your tuition fee by up to 7% each year for courses lasting more than one year, including to reflect rising costs associated with delivering our educational and wider student experience. Policy on additional costs

All students should normally be able to complete their programme of study without incurring additional study costs over and above the tuition fee for that programme. Any unavoidable additional compulsory costs totalling more than 1% of the annual home undergraduate fee per annum, regardless of whether the programme in question is undergraduate or postgraduate taught, will be made clear to you at the point of application.
